Henry Albert Brown Family

This is the genealogical/news page for the Tragle family originating in Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania, USA.

Henry TRAGLE (born 1824 in Leipzig, Germany to as yet unproven parents) and Amanda M Atkinson (daughter of Joseph ATKINSON and Miranda M HEED) were married at a time prior to 1850 and in an unknown location.  They had eight children that lived to adulthood, Helen Corson, William Henry, Walter Scott, Joseph Franklin, Emily C, Edward Morris, Thomas Elwood and Washington Irving.

Pictured at right is the inscription on the Tragle Family Plot marker at the Charles Evans Cemetery in Reading.

Helen Corson TRAGLE and William James Smith were married on Nov. 5, 1876 in Reading, Berks Co., Pennsylvania.  They had two children, Laura H Smith and Wallace James Smith.  There may be living descendants of this union that we would like to get in touch with!

William Henry TRAGLE and Emma L Reifsnyder (daughter of Jonathan Reifsnyder and Mary Ann Seibert) were married on Sept. 10, 1874 in Reading, Berks Co., Pennsylvania.  They had four children, Harry Joseph, Effie Maud, Ralph and Leroy.  There may be living descendants of this union that we would like to get in touch with!

Walter Scott TRAGLE and Frances L "Fanny" Lown (daughter of William Lown and Phoebe Snook) were married before 1881.  They had four children, only two of whom survived to adulthood, Alice R and Frances Claire.  There may be living descendants of this union that we would like to get in touch with!

Joseph Franklin TRAGLE and Lillian M Miller (daughter of Charles B Miller and Mary A Tompson) were married on Sept. 14, 1904 in Reading, Berks Co., Pennsylvania.  They had a son, Joseph Franklin, Jr..  There may be living descendants of this union that we would like to get in touch with!

Emily C TRAGLE (see Harry H Dillon).

Edward Morris TRAGLE never married to our knowledge.

Thomas Elwood TRAGLE and Ilse Anne Suck (daughter of Heinrich Suck and Anna Woite) were married on Jun 19, 1911 in Binghamton, Broome Co., New York.  They had three children, Henry Irving, Anna Mae and Thomas Elwood, Jr..

Washington Irving TRAGLE and Ruth I Carpenter (daughter of James Henry and Theodora Carpenter) were married on Sep 27, 1893 in Reading, Berks Co., Pennsylvania.  They had a son, Washington Irving Jr..
